A group of ten sentenced of digital abuse against Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has found guilty ten people for carrying out the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced allegations of circulating untruths regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the husband and wife's 24-year age gap.
The court handed down conditional custodial sentences of up to eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has still to be made public.
A longstanding conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France comes as the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their lawsuit alleges that Owens ignored all credible evidence contradicting her allegations opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has often echoed these claims on her show and social networks, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is in fact a man.
Brigitte Macron first met her current spouse when she worked as an educator at his high school.
The couple married in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
